Evaluation Procedure


Places will be offered to eligible applicants on the basis of the outcome of evaluations as set down below.

Year Evaluation Procedure
Reception (KG2) (KG2) - Interactive activities to assess language development, foundational knowledge in literacy and numeracy, motor skills, and proficiency in English
- Review of reports from nursery or pre-school (if available), and medical history
- Parent consultation to learn history of Applicant, any special needs, parent expectations, and ways in which parents can participate in school life
Grade 1 - Informal discussion with Applicant to assess proficiency in English, communication and language skills, as well as personal and social development
- Test to measure basic math and reading skills, for first semester admission. Measure of Academic Progress Test (*MAP®) in math and reading for second semester admission
- Writing sample
- Review of previous academic reports, any other school reports, and medical history
- Parent consultation to learn history of Applicant, any special needs, parent expectations, and ways in which parents can participate in school life
Grade 2 – 8 - Informal discussion to assess proficiency in English, communication and language skills, personal and social development, confidence levels, ability to co-operate with others, concentration levels and behavior
- Measure of Academic Progress Test (*MAP®) to gauge overall academic level and appropriate grade placement
- Writing sample
- Review of previous academic reports, any other school reports, and medical history
- Parent consultation to learn history of Applicant, any special talents or needs, parent expectations, and ways in which parents can participate in school life
