American School Hong Kong (ASHK) is a non-profit, college preparatory school offering an accredited American and IB program. ASHK is operated by Esol Education, the world's largest operator of international American schools, with 40 years of expertise in establishing and operating international schools worldwide. ASHK opened in September 2016 with Kindergarten through Grade 6 and will be adding a Middle School in 2018 at their Tai Po Campus.

Facilities Manager


  • Assume overall responsibility to manage all campus facilities and ensure compliance with relevant government regulation and ordinances;
  • Supervise and support the on-site facilities team comprised of internal and contract staff (i.e. cleaning, security, lift, pest control, gardening staff) to ensure an optimal, hygienic and safe learning environment for students and staff;
  • Prepare and monitor the annual Facilities budget to ensure compliance with financial procedures and the overall school budget;
  • Plan for in-house routine maintenance (including stock checks, renovation and improvement projects) and carry out feasibility studies of specialised work in accordance with the school budget and financial procedures;
  • Ensure that basic services and facilities such as water, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, paper supply etc. are well maintained;
  • Perform a full spectrum of facilities-related tasks and undertake minor to moderate facilities repair work as required;
  • Supervise and monitor all maintenance, repair and construction work undertaken by sub-contractors to ensure high quality, efficient, and cost effective service levels;
  • Maintain a service schedule for various assets (AC, elevator, electric room) and ensure that preventative maintenance is carried out regularly on various parts of the campus);
  • Supervise and assist with set-up for school events including furniture, sound system, stage, signage, etc.
  • Supervise and assist with receiving and delivering all new supplies to designated classrooms;
  • Supervise and assist with the assembly of new furniture and move to designated classrooms;
  • Purchase school furniture and maintain inventory of school assets;
  • Manage venue bookings with external parties as necessary;
  • Perform other comparable duties as assigned by the Director or Business Manager which are within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job description.


  • Minimum 5 years experience in facilities management - international school experience is desired.
  • Degree in Facilities Management or diploma in relevant technical area.
  • Strong background and technical knowledge in building services maintenance and well versed in statutory requirements of building projects.
  • Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for all facilities management matters.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (English and Cantonese) with customer service focused mindset.
  • A cheerful character with proactive and can-do mindset.
